When it comes to motion graphics / animation I usually focus on the illustrated side of things but I am damn glad I stumbled across Cyriak. Chances are you have probably seen his stuff before but just incase you haven’t I feel like it is my duty to ensure that you do.

Alexander Pettersson aka Eggs ‘n’ Bacon is phenomenal.  He has such a killer illustration style and unreal control of animation and movement. And with great power comes great responsibility, so naturally he made this delightful animation of backstroking mammas, orbiting matryoshka dolls, floating eggs and morphing shapes. Sublime. French graphic designer Kadavre Exquis takes us back to our childhood with his gorgeous short film Childhood of a Circle.

Kadavre Exquis worked with the multi award winning sound designer John Kassab to conjure up a nostalgic mood that works perfectly with the films classic/retro visuals.

In addition to the short film Karavre and friends composed an 11 track soundtrack. You can listen to all of the tracks, find out more about it and purchase the soundtrack here.

Also, Matt Hunter Ross of Motionographer posted an excellent interview with John Kassab about his experience working on Childhood of a Circle and about his process.  Read the interview here.

This is truly amazing. Using After Effects Jeff Desom stitched all of the scenes from Alfred Hitchcock’s Rear Window into a 20 minute, 33 foot, single image projected video installation. After combining all of the scenes into a single image the order of events stays true to the movie’s plot.

I would absolutely love to see this installation in person.

This video is immediately makes you smile and then it gets super depressing. Pulling off this level of detail and lifelike animation with puppets (not stop-motion) seems incredible difficult. Pretty impressive stuff.

Jherin Miller’s project Pixels and Polaroids makes me feel nostalgic.  He combined retro film photography and retro digital graphics to create some damn fine photos.  According to his Behance profile Jherin is a high school student from Lompoc, CA. Nicely done Jherin.
