The Black Harbor The Black Harbor is an online account of the work, ideas, and inspiration of a tight-nit collective of creatives. Over the years we have created things together, attended school together, fought together, and partied together. We have grown beyond the simplicity of friendship. We are now a family. Our purpose is to celebrates the work of the collective and explore creative work in the world that truly inspires us driving us to be better at what we do. Our hope is that as we document our work, process, lives, and inspiration that you will also be inspired and share your work with us.

This album has been doing the trick for me lately. I’m a sucker for anything western and psychedelic.

Woah supernerd! What do you got against the design of our site? Here's the feed. Geek.

I spent some time in the East Bay this week at really cool place run by a really cool guy named Al.  Al has traveled to Africa something like 20 times to hunt and guide trips and has been mounting animals (not that kind of mounting!) since he was a little kid and killed his first beaver at 8 years old.  His clients include mystery mistresses that arrive in limos to drop off dead parrots to have stuffed and mounted only to never return and oil tycoons that have a penchant for killing big game and shirk family and decency to do so.  Al keeps the forgotten pets in a big freezer in the back.  The range of animals is impressive. . .everything from a Terrier to a 20 ft long Alligator.  All of this is only marginally true . . . but Al is a great guy and I want to drink beer with him and listen to his stories.
