The Black Harbor The Black Harbor is an online account of the work, ideas, and inspiration of a tight-nit collective of creatives. Over the years we have created things together, attended school together, fought together, and partied together. We have grown beyond the simplicity of friendship. We are now a family. Our purpose is to celebrates the work of the collective and explore creative work in the world that truly inspires us driving us to be better at what we do. Our hope is that as we document our work, process, lives, and inspiration that you will also be inspired and share your work with us.

This album has been doing the trick for me lately. I’m a sucker for anything western and psychedelic.

Eat Real Poster 2011

This is one of my favorite new I Shot Him projects created in collaboration with my buddy,
Carl Bender the Great.

Client
Eat Real Festival

Description
Eat Real combines a state fair, a street-food festival, and a block party to create a celebration of good food. At the Eat Real Festival, participants learn where food comes from, who grows and makes it, and how they make it. Eat Real Festival attendance is 100% free of charge, all food at the festival costs $5 and less, and all food incorporates regionally-sourced, fabulous, and sustainably-produced ingredients. Eat Real’s cause is to promote and teach food craft. This festival affects us by revitalizing regional food systems, building public awareness of and respect for the craft of making good food and encourages the growth of American food entrepreneurs.

Execution
Eat Real held festivals in Oakland and Los Angeles this year and we worked with them to create signage that could be used across two events, reducing costs and weight for our client. We created posters and postcards that, like Eat Real, highlighted regionality. We gave them a pantry of illustrations — literally and figuratively. We created a large collection of food illustrations that could be used in exponentially to place as icons on a map, blown up for a poster or put on a t-shirt.

Does anyone know where I can buy this poster, and the other two from the previous years?  My friend asked for them for Christmas. Help!
