These are two images from a portrait session I had with a local artist/musician Andy Kuncl. The inspiration for this shoot was to do something with absolutely no concept. My life in photography these days has become very complicated… everything I do has become so conceptualized, everything must have a purpose, everything must have meaning. I feel the need to constantly be pushing the professional boundary, constantly upping the ante. These image, to me, are representative of a sort of lost simplicity between me and photography. It feels good to shoot this way again.
