It’s no secret that The Black Harbor is a friend to the whale. So you can imagine my excitement when I was presented the opportunity to jump on a ship headed for the Farallon Islands in search of the colossal mammals. To capture images of the great beast (and my fellow spectators) I traveled twenty-seven miles off the coast of San Francisco. After a bout with vertigo and a few harrowing hours at sea we returned to the mainland safe, and with this document of our adventure in hand.
