I came across this Dutchman when I was home in New Hampshire this last December.  Can’t exactly remember how, just sort of following one link to the next, bouncing around the web.  Anyway, there was something about Nicolai Howalt images that spoke to me.  The oddly perfect compositions and arrangements of figures within the frame struck me as a bit too perfect, but possible nonetheless.  I think I am often drawn to subtlety and his images are just that.  I invite anyone looking at these to try and figure out why they exhibit the quality that they do.  I have left the artist statement until the end and it is quite fascinating and adds another layer of depth to the series.  You can see more work here www.nicolaihowalt.com
