Tim Simmons works in the landscape genre. His aesthetic is very clean and very surreal. Tim was born in 1955 and began his career as a commercial photographer but seems to have focused more on his own projects in the past 5 or so years. There is a hint of the commercial feel in his work which probably has to do with retouching and lighting techniques but the work is far beyond commercial and exists on its own, in its own right. The images don’t need any sort of context. In a sense you don’t need any information besides what is in front of you and you create your own narratives. Allow your mind to wander. There is quite a lot of mystery and intrigue as well as an ominous feel. Well, decide for yourself. You can see more of his work here.
