I came across the work of French illustrator Philippe Cazaumayou last week and fell in love. At the age of 18 years, Cazaumayou began a career in advertising which lasted until 1970 when he started getting involved in comics with the release of his first album of cartoons called, Kris Kool. Later in his career he got more involved in doing illustration for Science Fiction titles like Sanguine, L’oiseau poussière, Arkhe, Chimères and Lailah. He later worked on an animated film called Gandahar which I need to check out. The work shown here was first published in Heavy Metal in 1979. So rad.
