I’ve long been a fan of Scottish duo Boards of Canada and recently came across a fan generated video on You Tube created for Everything You Do is a Balloon off the album “Boc Maxima.” The use of vintage film is nothing new, but there’s something great about this bicycle safety film from 1963. I think it’s the crude ape masks, the exaggerated gestures of the actors and the great animations of the numbers as the monkeys get knocked off.
